SC Johnson to Shift 170 Chicago Roles to Mount Pleasant by 2026

SC Johnson will move 170 positions to Mount Pleasant facilities by the end of 2026.

Published July 17, 2025

The move aligns with the company’s long-term goal of strengthening collaboration across teams following its recent restructuring into two main divisions.

Employees will transition into the former Educators Credit Union building on Willow Road—acquired in 2023—which sits next to existing SC Johnson offices and close to the Waxdale manufacturing plant. Company leaders emphasized that no jobs will be eliminated, and about 100 employees will continue working in downtown Chicago, where manufacturing operations in Pullman will also remain active.

SC Johnson’s global headquarters will stay in Racine, where the company has been rooted for nearly 140 years. Renovation or expansion plans for the Willow Road building have not yet been announced, though the relocation is expected to occur in phases through 2026.
