At the 2021 Annual Meeting, the Racine County Economic Development Corporation celebrated the achievements of our staff and the businesses we worked with. RCEDC recognized the outstanding efforts of companies and individuals for their contribution to Racine County’s development with awards for the Sam Johnson Volunteer of the Year, Lenders of the Year, and Business Development Projects of the Year.
Without question, 2020 was a year like no other. We are grateful for the resiliency of our businesses, partners, and community leaders that persevered through the disruption.
With the 2020 strategic plan foiled by the COVID-19 pandemic, it became essential to pivot – meeting the new and urgent needs of our businesses.
In 2020, RCEDC completed 93 projects that included comprehensive site selection, loans, grants, and incentives- resulting in $137M in private investment and $72M in new construction. These projects, when completed, will create or retain more than 1,200 full-time jobs. To remain connected with our community and partners, RCEDC completed a record setting number of outreach calls to 446 businesses offering assistance and making referrals to other partners.

This year’s keynote speaker is Shawn Kanungo. Described in Forbes Magazine as “the best virtual keynote speaker I’ve ever seen,” Kanungo will present his keynote address: “Disruption is Opportunity,” tailored for RCEDC and its audience.
The Annual Meeting will provide attendees an overview of the creative solutions RCEDC used to guide relief efforts. The event will also recognize the following individuals and organizations for their contributions towards fulfilling RCEDC’s mission.

- Project of the Year: Hillwood’s continued development of Grandview Business Park - securing Amazon as a tenant and supporting the growth of Logoplaste and Goodwill
- NE Wisconsin Lender of the Year: David La Duke, Vice President of Business at Oostburg State Bank
- SE Wisconsin Lender of the Year: Robert Pieroni, Vice President of Commercial Banking at Community State Bank
