The Idea Competition is designed to facilitate the development of great ideas and help those ideas find fulfillment. Participants compete for prizes that include cash, mentoring, and engagement in the incubator process to help develop those ideas.
Ideas will be judged publically and by a jury of professionals. The ideas will be posted in downtown storefronts where the public will have the opportunity to vote for their favorite ideas. The ideas with the most votes will win cash and mentoring for their idea implementation.
All participants will get to network with innovative peers, sponsors, and mentors that can help make their ideas a reality.Â

The Tech-Prize team seeks entrepreneurs who have developed their idea and business approach to the level they seek funding, assistance, or mentoring to launch their idea. The goal of hosting the Pitch Competition is to enable your truly great idea in the world. VC investors and businesses will be present to listen to your pitch. Great ideas are expected to receive offers to help enable the launch of the product or service. In addition, the competition itself will hone the “Pitch” for the individual or team, provide cash awards, space for business start-up, mentoring, and legal assistance to help enable your start-up for the top three winners.
This years Tech-Prize Esports competition will ask competitors to participate in a new competition that encourages them to use Minecraft (any version) to come up with complicated machinery that accomplishes very little but in a humorous way. This is the first year that Tech-Prize and Gateway Technical College is bringing this competition. You can learn more about Gateway at www.tech-prize.org/gateway.
Throughout this competition, teams will compete by imagining, designing and building machines using the capabilities of Minecraft. We seek competitors of all ages to string together a series of designs to create a zany chain-reaction Rube Goldberg Machine and take away a great scholarship to Gateway College!
Tech-Prize and Gateway Technical College are providing free registration to enable as many competitors as possible to participate. The competition will work in 2 stages.Â
Stage 1: Design & Construction will happen remotely with competitors using their own software and computers to build their machines.Â
Stage 2: Top Submissions Presentation – Submissions will be reviewed and judged selecting the top 10 submissions to present their machines at Gateway college during the Tech-Prize competition at Party on the Pavement. The final competition will be live and streamed via Facebook Live.
