Homemade Flavors Arrive to Sturtevant
With RCEDC's Support Mrs. Rivers Bakery & Smokehouse Open Doors
Lisa leased a vacant storefront in Sturtevant to open Mrs. Rivers Bakery & Smokehouse Cafe, offering scratch-made baked goods alongside smoked meats, sandwiches, soups, salads, and beverages. Lisa then contacted RCEDC to secure a loan and a matching grant to support the growth of the business. Both the loan and matching grant were funded by Sturtevant to support small businesses and beautify the Highway 11 commercial corridor. The loan allowed Lisa to buy equipment, and the matching grant covered a portion of the company’s advertising and business training expenses.
Located at 9604 Durand Avenue in Sturtevant, WI, Mrs. Rivers Bakery & Smokehouse Café has a growing following that appreciates its dedication to quality, using fresh, premium ingredients to create exceptional baked goods. The product offerings feature over 50 pie flavors, cheesecakes, cookies, cupcakes, quiches, and scones. The café offers a warm, inviting atmosphere with indoor seating and grab-and-go options for busy customers. It is open Tuesday through Saturday, 7am-7pm, and Sundays, 7am-1pm. (Closed Mondays).
