Racine County Tops Wisconsin in New Construction Growth

Nearly $1.3 billion in new construction fuels local development

According to a recent analysis by the Badger Institute, Racine County experienced the highest rate of new construction in Wisconsin for 2024—posting a 4.83% increase in property value from net new construction (after accounting for demolitions). This growth rate is nearly three times the statewide average of 1.65% and almost double that of the next-highest county, Adams, which came in at 2.94%.

This impressive momentum reflects a wave of public and private investment across the region. Major developments—such as Microsoft’s new data center project in Mount Pleasant and ongoing industrial expansions—have pushed Racine County’s total new construction value to nearly $1.3 billion in 2025. These projects are redefining the local landscape and reinforcing confidence in Racine County as a top destination for business growth and community development.
