RCEDC Helps Modern Aesthetics Skincare Expand with Local RLF Support
Passion for skincare inspired to establish Modern Aesthetics Skincare
Village of Waterford, WI – Cala Newholm, founder and owner of Modern Aesthetics Skincare, opened her medical skincare clinic in February 2022 in the Village of Waterford.
In 2014, Cala completed VICI Beauty School’s Licensed Esthetician program, while pursuing a Business Management program at Waukesha County Technical College. Cala also worked for eight years at FORME Aesthetic and Vein Center. During that time, she mastered the Sciton mJoule laser treatment, renowned for its advanced skin revitalization capabilities, reducing lines, wrinkles, pore size, and discoloration.
Cala’s passion for skincare and her vision inspired her to establish Modern Aesthetics Skincare. Her company offers services that include: microderm facial, dermaplaning facial, hydro facial, mini micro facial, deep exfoliation with extractions, customized chemical peels, derma peel, LED light therapy, microneedling, microdermabrasion, lash lift & tint, brow tinting, brow lamination, and waxing. To offer additional client services, Cala wanted to purchase a Sciton mJoule laser treatment machine.
To reduce her down payment and monthly repayments, Cala sought funding from the Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC) and secured a $91,192 Racine County Revolving Loan Fund (RLF). This loan provided 90% of the cost, thereby reducing Cala’s down payment to 10%. Additionally, Modern Aesthetics Skincare was approved for a $5,000 Racine County Matching Grant that will be utilized towards advertising and business training. This woman-owned small business plans to create one full-time job as a result of this investment.
