The Mount Pleasant Village Board approved three agreements that advance plans from Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) to purchase a 315-acre parcel of land in the Village of Mount Pleasant to develop a data center campus.
The Village of Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC), Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), and Milwaukee 7 announced plans for an agreement with Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) to purchase a 315-acre parcel of land in the Village of Mount Pleasant in Racine County. The aim is to create a data center campus.
Racine County is gearing up for a year of transformative growth, with major construction projects set to reshape its residential, commercial, and infrastructure landscape. Construction is underway on the mixed-use Waterford Lofts, a 28,200 sq. ft. project at 506 E Main Street. The project is a partnership between the Village of Waterford, Wisconsin Redevelopment Group, and Milwaukee-based Selzer-Ornst Construction Company.
RCEDC will host the 2023 Racine County Economic Outlook Roundtable on Wednesday, January 25th, which will feature the Wisconsin Department of Revue’s Secretary, Peter Barca and Chief Economist, John Koskinen.

Ashley Capital, a national developer, plans to invest $440 million to transform the former South Hills Country Club in Caledonia, Racine County, into a new industrial park. This project aims to create 2,000 full-time jobs and will cover around 220 acres with 10 buildings totaling 3.8 million square feet. The development is expected to boost the property’s assessed value by $300 million.
