With new construction housing in short supply, nearly any viable location in Racine County is suitable for residential development, particularly areas near I-94, such as Mount Pleasant, which offer proximity to employers and amenities. Stakeholders could also consider creating master-planned communities with varied housing, scenic landscaping, trails, parks, and open spaces.

In 2020, new residents and businesses continued to choose Racine County, taking advantage of its location in the Chicago-Milwaukee corridor. John Crimmings, General Sales Manager of First Weber Real Estate in Racine, believes outside companies are discovering the advantages of doing business here, which attracts home buyers – leading to a future of “a pretty robust real estate market.”

The Western Racine County Targeted Development Study focuses on development opportunities in Racine County for communities west of I-94. The findings and recommendations of this project are intended to assist several of the western communities within the County in capitalizing on the positive impacts of Foxconn and its supplier companies, including impact on public services, new residential and mixed-use development opportunities, increased land values, and transportation.
