Racine County Ranks Second in Wisconsin for Home Construction Growth
Racine County continues to experience strong growth in residential development, reflecting increasing demand for housing across the region. According to an article from The Journal Times citing data from the Wisconsin Builders Association (WBA), Racine County recorded the second-highest increase in single-family home construction permits in Wisconsin during the first half of 2026.
Between January and June, municipalities across Racine County issued 238 single-family home permits, compared to 150 permits during the same period in 2025, representing a 58.7% year-over-year increase. The county ranked second statewide for permit growth, trailing only Barron County.
Local builders cited continued demand for housing and the development of new subdivisions as key factors contributing to the increase. Communities such as Caledonia, Mount Pleasant, and Union Grove have seen significant residential activity, helping create new opportunities for families looking to live and work in Racine County.
