The Village of Mount Pleasant is experiencing a significant increase in residential development, with several new projects helping meet growing housing demand across the community.

According to reporting by the Milwaukee Business Journal, the village issued permits for 475 new housing units in 2025, the highest annual total in nearly 50 years. Major projects underway include Springs at Mount Pleasant, a 280-unit apartment community, and Leo Living, a 220-unit rental housing development.

Additional residential projects are advancing through the approval process, including:

The proposed development would bring 95 single-family homes to a 33-acre site near Old Green Bay Road and Braun Road. The project is being developed by Stonestreet Partners with Lennar as the planned homebuilder and is expected to be considered by the Village Board in the coming weeks.

Lineage Estates

A proposed 22-lot subdivision near South Emmertsen Road and Green Valley Drive recently received initial Plan Commission approval. Plans call for condominium duplex homes, with Golden Construction and Excavating serving as developer and builder.

These projects support Mount Pleasant’s ongoing efforts to address future housing needs. A 2024 housing analysis found that thousands of additional housing units will be needed over the coming decades to meet projected demand.
