    Welcome to the 2023 Industrial Development Update by RCEDC. We are thrilled to share with you the latest developments in our region's industrial landscape.

    The Village of Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC), Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC) and Milwaukee 7 today announced the closing of Microsoft Corporation’s (Microsoft) approximately $50 million land purchase of a 315-acre parcel of land in the Village of Mount Pleasant in Racine County. The company plans to create a data center campus.

    The Mount Pleasant Village Board approved three agreements that advance plans from Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) to purchase a 315-acre parcel of land in the Village of Mount Pleasant to develop a data center campus.

    The Village of Mount Pleasant, Racine County, Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC), Wisconsin Economic Development Corporation (WEDC), and Milwaukee 7 announced plans for an agreement with Microsoft Corporation (Microsoft) to purchase a 315-acre parcel of land in the Village of Mount Pleasant in Racine County. The aim is to create a data center campus.

    Companies of all sizes, from all across the world are choosing to invest in Racine County. Since establishing their presence here in the 90's, Ashley Capital's Gary Rosecrans and Lee & Associates' John Sharpe quickly realized the value of doing business in Racine County.

    There is a new 188,000 square foot speculative development planned for Caledonia's DeBack Farms Business Park.

    Hillwood, a national investment and development company, expanded their footprint in Racine County purchasing a 19-acre parcel, where they recently celebrated the groundbreaking of what will be a 247,105 SF industrial speculative building.

    During the next several years, nearly 1 million square feet of industrial development is planned for the DeBack Farms Business Park in the Village of Caledonia. Scannell Properties, headquartered in Indianapolis, plans to develop a 65-acre site in the park over three phases. A General Mills warehouse and distribution center is planned to occupy the first building.

    RCEDC’s mission is to grow Racine County’s property tax base and by supporting business expansions, provide employment opportunities to Racine County residents. In 2023, RCEDC staff were able to facilitate 64 projects that included comprehensive site selection, loans, grants, and incentives resulting in $1.36 billion in private investment and $1.05 billion in new construction.
