Burlington, WI – The Royal Canine is a unique self-service dog washing boutique that opened in October 2023 in downtown Burlington. Andora Byrne, its owner, is a true animal lover and wanted to provide dog owners with a convenient alternative to at-home baths or traditional full-service grooming options.
To help support this project, Andora contacted Racine County Economic Development Corporation (RCEDC) to secure funding to purchase two dog washing stations. Andora received approval for a $36,306 Burlington Revolving Loan Fund (RLF) to fund this equipment. As a result, Andora has created one new job and revitalized a vacant storefront in downtown Burlington.
The Royal Canine aims to meet the demand for a hassle-free space where pet owners can pamper their dogs without the usual post-bath cleanup. With the invaluable support and expertise of RCEDC, I secured funding for the necessary equipment to realize this vision.

Inside the 600-square-foot facility, two modern dog washing stations are programmed for a 15-minute cycle, which allows dog owners to rinse, shampoo, condition, and gently blow-dry their dogs. The 15-minute dog washing cycles are priced at only $15 per wash, allowing dog owners to save both time and money. The facility also features a ramp for effortless canine entry and exit.
The Royal Canine recently expanded their services by partnering with Shampooches Grooming in Salem, WI, and now offers “mini-grooms,” which includes nail trimming. Follow The Royal Canine on Facebook for scheduled dates for this service – @theroyalcanine.
The Royal Canine is located in downtown Burlington at 525 N Pine St. It is open every day from 8 am to 8 pm.
