EXPLORE IMPORTANT STARTUP BUSINESS TOPICS
The Wisconsin Small Business Development (SBDC) Network. developed a video series addressing the most common technical business questions from Wisconsin entrepreneurs.
The Entrepreneurial How-To Video Series was developed by the SBDC at UW–Madison as a long-lasting, meaningful use of CARES Act funding made possible through the U.S. Small Business Administration. With so much transitioning online during the pandemic, SBDC staff recognized a need for targeted on-demand resources to common questions.

The videos are organized by subject matter. The Law series, which focuses on such topics as LLCs, trademarks and employee handbooks, were developed in conjunction with the Law & Entrepreneurship Clinic at the University of Wisconsin Law School, a place the SBDC often refers clients.
“We were very excited to work the Law and Entrepreneurship Clinic, an excellent partner helping clients statewide,” said Michelle Somes-Booher, center director for the SBDC at UW-Madison. “A special bonus to the collaboration was having law students play starring roles.”
The Lending series, like the Law one, needed to be “really approachable” and under three minutes while handling complex, sophisticated topics, Somes-Booher said. “These videos answer questions our clients ask on a regular basis as part of our no-cost, confidential consulting.”
Film production company Clouds North Films and consulting firm Eseedling worked with the SBDC on the project. A third series – Accounting — is expected to debut in 2022.
