Grant opportunity for small businesses with 3-20 employees
InSinkErator recently unveiled their new $34 million headquarters. The 87,000 square foot building is home to around 175 employees and the latest technology, which will help drive innovation. The headquarters is located at 1250 International Drive, off of Highway 20.
The new headquarters is just the beginning; a $29 million to the 21st Street plant is set to follow. Emerson (InSinkErator’s parent company) chairman and CEO, David Farr said,
“We felt that, in the end it was a smart decision to make an investment in new headquarters and innovation center. But equally important to make a huge investment in the new manufacturing facility which is going to be built on the same (21st Street) site, renovated on the same site.”
The building was designed to enhance collaboration and innovation, as well as offer an attractive headquarters to help attract and retain talent. Natural lighting and walking paths are just part of what makes the new building unique. It was built to qualify for LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design) certification in areas like energy use, water use reduction, and indoor environmental quality. The grounds have walking paths for employee health and wellness, and feature seating and wifi so work can be done outdoors.
The new headquarters and plans for the 21st Street upgrades are part of Emerson’s commitment to local manufacturing. Farr also said,
“I have a very strong interest in U.S. manufacturing. The idea that companies like Emerson are investing in communities like this, for expanding U.S. manufacturing, expanding innovation is very, very important.”
